Hostname Modules

Modules configuration

The module configuration allows you to make each hostname unique with custom settings such as custom alias names, descriptions, and URL links to outside documentation and / or videos. In addition, more granular access settings can be set for each level of the hierarchy.

The following functions are available for each service and feature:

    • Create / Modify an Alias

    • Add / Modify a description

    • Provide URL to external support documentation

    • Select access functions (Read, Create, Update, Delete) for each level of the hierarchy.


Modify (Alias, Description, Link) configuration


Click on any module name to edit the settings. In this example, an Auto Attendant will be modified to be recognized as an 'Auto Receptionist':

  • Name: This is the default system name of the feature.

  • Alias: This is the new name which will be updated system-wide

  • Description: This is where a more detailed information regarding the feature can be entered.

  • Link: a custom outside URL can be entered for each feature. (note: a valid URL starting with http:// is required when entering in the URL).


Modify Access configuration

Each level of the hierarchy can have custom access settings per feature:

  • READ access: This shows / hides the entire page from the menu

  • CREATE access: This allows / denies the ability to add a feature

  • UPDATE access: This allows / denies a feature to be modified

  • DELETE access: This allows / denies delete function.
